I know I’m probably forgetting at least 1 if not 2 books, but oh well, I should have updated more.
Spook Country by William Gibson - This is the followup to Pattern Recognition, and unfortuantely a poor one at that. I was really looking forward to this book and it was a big disappointment. It was building up to something big and it just didn’t follow through imho.

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin - Really good long book. I had a few issues with it unfortunately. One was the name. I’m about halfway through the sequel. That really should have been called Game of Thrones. this book should be named something else (not that kings don’t clash in the next book).
The other issue I have with it, is while it’s a series of books I don’t feel a resolution in it. Most books have an issue that comes up in the first act, and a resolution in the last act. This book didn’t really do that. Even in book series like the Dresden Files each book has its own separate story even though its part of a larger series that isn’t finished yet. This just feels like a long story that won’t be resolved until the final book.
It was still a really good book though, and I’ll look forward to finishing the series whenever Geroge R. R. Martin does. I just hope his old ass doesn’t die before he gets there :-(.
