I'm leaving for Korea tomorrow morning, so this is my last post in Shanghai.
Today I woke up a bit late, which is weird. We were instantly whisked off to a HUGE lunch with Nina's aunt's family. Long drive to historical Shanghai in a really nice Buick.
The food was weird. There was a full plucked chicken cooked and cut on a plate. Nina ate the chicken head. It was really.....I'm really squeemish so I was just like ewwwww. She poked out its eyes..... Ewwwwww...
The restaurant brought in all the seafood alive first, so we could 'inspect' it. I took photos. We had a HUUUGE Lobster served 3 different ways. First it was sashimi Lobster. It was served in this really showy piece where the Lobster was displayed and then the sashimi on orange halves. The Lobster was still twitching. Like a lot.
Then there was Lobster soup and Fried in Battery stuff Lobster. I liked that one.
For Dinner we went to a REALLY expensive French restaurant. It was REALLY really nice. I would like to visit places like that regularly. It is a style to which I would like to be accustomed.
BEST LOBSTER I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!
It was so succulent and amazing!!! Maddenly amazing. I felt like an elegant young lady.
Anyway tomorrow I need to be up at the crack of dawn, so I'm going to bed early.
Oh last note. For the first time since I got to Shanghai I saw the sky. The beautiful blue sky. I can't tell you how much better everything looks with direct sunlight. It really brightened my day.
I also saw the moon for the first time since I arrived.
You really miss these simple things when they're gone.
Goodbye Shanghai, Hello Korea.
