My mom and sister just left yesterday. It was a fabulous visit, way too short. My sis brought her 16 wk old Cairn Terrier pup, Nessie. My dogs did great; the cats were not pleased with the temporary additions to the abode. Bean Sidhe mostly got into staring contests with Nessie. Little dog was all "I'm a dog! Watch me wiggle!" And Bean Sidhe was like "fuck you ~growly noise~" Olive was in avoidance mode, but generally more seen than not. Wraithe and Raven were self-confined to the basement* We ate lots of wonderful food and went shoe shopping and went for lots of slow, lovely dog walks. I have warmed up to the notion of one day owning a smaller dog...though the yappy bark is a thing for future consideration. Likely candidates are a Corgi and a Westie.
*All is currently right in their world. Thank god! I missed my two black felines!
So I hadn't written much in the week that I was preparing for the visit and while they were here. That all changed yesterday--I am fucking amazed at the productivity I had last night. I had barely looked at WIP for over a week, and this downtime apparently did me good, because I saw areas for improvement everywhere. Stuff that I had looked at many times, but they appeared as wallpaper--background that I hadn't noticed. Yesterday I was an editing machine! And Happy!
Did more editing at dance class. This was heavy-work-load editing, where most of what I had written in the first draft was done in bizarre short-hand/punting method. Meaning I had a lot of plain old writing to do. And it was fine. Good even. I may be able to finish and update by Friday, which will be huge in fitting in with my weekend plans.
Just a matter of time management.
