Harry Potter Deathly Hallows 2 was fun and exciting, decent use of 3-D, and I'm really glad we decided to go with the big opening-night crowd. Lots of people dressed up--plenty of the usual Hogwarts students but the best were Dobby and Bellatrix. I did cry when Snape died and really let it out in the scene where Harry accessed his memories. Crying during movies...it's either a dry-eyed experience or I'm completely verklempt. Oddly I had the latter happen at the end of the episode of Castle I watched today (season 2, ep 5, I think, the one with the baby-switching). Holy unexpected reaction.
Stupidly I stayed up for over an hour after we got home. I sleepwalked through making Stuart a latte at 6:30 (3 hours sleep) and went back to bed. There's something surreal about doing a task while half asleep. I made him a latte--didn't do anything weird to it, like put in balsamic vinegar instead of vanilla syrup, tidied up the machine like I usually do. So mentally I was there, but I don't remember a single detail. Not a single bit of it. I wonder if I would have remembered if something significant happened or if I hadn't gone back to sleep. I hate having a space of time where I was up and doing stuff for twenty minutes be a total blank.
Anyway. Went around the loop at 10. Not as good as yesterday--tired, hot, hamstrings felt like shit. After lunch I paid mid-month bills online, "balanced" the checkbook, did the litterboxes, watered houseplants, made the bed, did dishes, made Fresh Hot Pepper Paste (favorite condiment after mayonnaise), and cleaned out an inbox. Scout decided her need for funds was greater than her love of doing nothing, and she told me to put her to work. I paid her $20 to do both toilets, the upstairs bathroom sink and counter, dust the bathroom and water closet, clean the bathroom mirrors, and *shudder* clean the shower. She wanted $30 because the shower was so gross (it really, really was) but I drive a hard bargain ;) Even though I had to walk her through the process (normally I just think its easier to do it myself), it saved me a lot of time and I was able to kick back and take a half hour reading break.
Currently sitting with feet up, sipping glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Next on deck--writing.
