Oh goodness gracious, I love this icon.

So like, now that I'm basically recovered, I've been gaming out a lot on my PS2. I tried starting on Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (Cliff and Fayt <3), but since I was revealed a major plot twist by someone, I'm trying to repress it by playing other games. So top two in my priority are Rogue Galaxy and Drakengard 2. Since I'm more of a "one game at a time" person, I've been PLOWING through Rogue Galaxy.

For serious. I played through the game until the last chapter before, but since I was so underleveled that every enemy was a one hit kill for me, I decided to start from the ground up. And I tried not to laugh during most of the plot of the game.
I failed at that.

-The cast is pretty star studded and most a lot seemed to have voiced for at least one Tales game. The most memorable for me are: Yuri Lowenthal as the lovable robot Steve(also Luke from Tales of the Abyss), Steven Blum as Zegram, Quinton Flynn as...I don't want to say, Heather Hogan as several annoying characters, CRISPIN FREEMAN as Gale (<3), Kirk Thorton(<3), Fred Tatasciore as Dorgengoa (also BaelhunkBaelheit from Baten Kaitos Origins).

-In the beginning of the game you meet some kind of enigma called Desert Claw. My hunch was that he's going to pull at least a Kratos.
I was right.

-It didn't help that he was really smoking hot like Kratos. And he has scars too. Yum.

-In the third chapter, you're able to give between Jaster(hero) or Kisala(party member) an ability that involved the item the "Star Earring." Common sense says Kisala, but then you'll be absolutely screwed for a long part of the game since the item is so fscking hard to find. Kisala's move is pretty useless for most of the game since you don't have her in your party for the next two chapters. At least Jaster's move is the most spammable move in the game and can OBLITERATE bosses with the right weapon.

-Jaster wiggles his ass just right when he runs. I enjoy this throughoutly. Zegram does too, but you can't see it all that well because of his jacket.

-Most of the music is really good, but because of the loops, it gets really annoying really fast. The only themes I enjoy are "Le Marie Glennecia"(title theme), the battle/boss battle themes, the Vedan theme, and the theme of when a cute kid talks to his father. The Vedan theme sounds really like something like the Italian mafia. It amuses me greatly.

-Heather Hogan voices what I do believe is the most annoying character in the game. It's full of weeaboo-ness, which makes my ears bleed. The character even has PINK hair.
PINK! D:

-Most spoken line of chapter six: "GAAAAALE!" I timed it right and screamt "STELLA" for kicks.

-Chapter Eight features the longest and most annoying dungeon of the game. I'm currently there right now and trying not to bitch about it.

-I really think Jaster and Kisala's relationship could go further. Their combo move "Fated Passion" (it's powered by their LOOOVE)gives an obvious sign that there is feelings between them and there's some really subtle hints, but I would have liked a bit more to feed my favorite pairing of the game.

-Chapter nine and ten features the most hilarious plots twists ever. In short: Jaster turns into a Super Saiyan, I felt bad for Seed after he got rejected and killed, and you get to meet Jaster's parents for the first time.
There's even a "KAMEHAMEHA" moment.

-Did I mention Jaster's wiggle? Yes? Okay, then.

-What I really liked about the game was that the battle system is a cleaner version of Kingdom Hearts. There's less to worry about when it comes to using items and abilities, and you automatically can see the enemies HP. Rogue Galaxy is also more difficult.

-Most of the backstory  of the characters aren't fleshed out very well--making them seem a bit flat. With the exception of Jaster, Kisala, and maybe Steve and Deego most of the focus of the characters are all about one event of their past. Zegram still has the cutest and most tragic one of all--I actually cried a bit during the whole "flashback of everyone's past" part of the twelfth chapter.

-Zegram is the biggest grump and it's obvious that he was going to betray the party from the third chapter. But really, he's the biggest sweetheart ever thanks to what motivates him and I just love him to bits. Did I mention he has an eyepatch? That's important too.

-That said character also questions what kind of pirates they are. I mean, like, they're pirates...but they do good deeds? Not on purpose, but like...lolwhut?

-It's Star Wars and Tales of Symphonia with pirates. That's the game. Seriously.
