I have to do a thesis paper for my Writing 301 class this semester and I'm having a hard time finding a topic that is both sufficiently controversial and specific enough so that it can be done. Yes, unfortunately I paused my education growth for monetary gains. Not that I gained much of anything anyway. Anyway please leave some brainstorming if you have the chance.

Do your own homework. Why do you have to write about ethics? If it's a basic writing course, write about anything you want. Papers are easy.

This is not my homework. My final project for the class is a fifteen to twenty page thesis. I'm actually being a good boy by trying to decide ahead of time what I should write about. Also this is not a basic writing course, it's the writing course that one must pass when one is a junior or senior to graduate from the CUNY system.

Sounds like homework to me :) Having written about ten semester theses, I've been there. Don't know anything about the CUNY system; SUNY did not require any writing courses if you passed the state writing exam (which I did). I'm being mean because I can (and have) written these things in my sleep and received an A for my "efforts".

My only advice is to write about something that personally affects you in some way or another, do ample research, always start with a detailed outline, and try to surprise yourself. You seem to have plenty ideas, so I don't even know why you're asking :P

I'm asking because I'm bored with all of my ideas. I discuss, write about and argue them so much that I'm tired of them right now. I'm just looking for a little bit of inspiration.
