I Hate Heartland America...

Well, I haven't gotten a single wink of sleep. All I did last night is lock myself in my room and stare at the electoral map on www.c-span.org all night. They update every 10 minutes or so which totally coincides with my obsession with this election. Now let me explain my title. During my umpteenth hour of no sleep and staring at the electoral map I noticed that during this election more then any other election before it the country has been divided into two very polar groups. Those of us who interact with people from other nations and those of us that don't. Every state that voted for Kerry so far is what I like to call a gateway state. Even the northern states that voted for Kerry are the traditional gateway states that have a greater interaction with Canadians. The only two gateway states that did not go to Kerry are Texas and Florida, both of which are controlled by the Bush family. Not that my poor attempt to explain this disaster means anything but it's better then the bullshit that I've heard some people spouting this morning. Someone actually had the nerve to tell me it was the minorities fault for not voting that Bush is winning. I had to explain to this person that somewhere around 100,000,000 people voted this election and there were only around 270,000,000 people currently in the country of which only 195,000,000 are of the age to vote. If you take out people that are not allowed to vote due to criminal record, incompetence or nationality you can fairly say that well over 60% of the voting population showed up for the vote. No the problem is not people showing up. Anyway, I'm currently researching job opportunities in Spain and my boss wants me to research property values in the Azores. Anyone have any research requests while I'm looking this shit up?
