Yesterday evening I went to bed while the storm was howling outside the window.
This morning I woke up and heard heavy rain outside the window. But no sound of an S-Bahn driving past my window. (which I normally hear)
The S-Bahn homepage confirmed my suspicion. Only part of the S-Bahn lines are in action. The S-Bahn which I need to take doesn't run. The tram which I normally change into from the S-Bahn also doesn't run says the homepage of the Munich public transport homepage. Yay! (not.)
For the tram there is an easy solution: get out of the S-Bahn 2 stops earlier, and take the bus. Should be no difference in time travelled.
I asked my SO what to do. He phoned his mother who had a similar problem like me, she also needs the sam S-Bahn as I do. The solution to this was: we (my SO, his mother, a colleague of his mother and me) all got into the car of ym SO and first drove to his workplace (so that he arrives there on time). Then we drove to another S-Bahn station which is rather close. The S-Bahn there (different line) came on time and brought me to the station where I could change into a bus.
The bus arrived at the bus stop (two buildings apart from the building where my office is) at 8 am. At this time I should have been already in my office and working. I headed over through the wind and rain and came to my desk about 5 minutes late. I think that is a quite good result for not having a working S-Bahn connection at first.
The whole time it storm was blowing. It was quite heavy wind, or a rather mild storm (so it seemed to me). But the traffic signals on the streets, the street laterns and the trees were shaking in the wind.
The trees are still shaking (I can't see traffic signs from the office), but the sun has come out by now.
In other places in Germany the storm is gone by now, but it's still raining.
