[Vincent takes forever to do things, especially when they involve a certain scientist and his love for her. Ever since she left and returned, he's unsure where things stand in regards to... that. So he's avoided asking. He's been unsure how to approach her about it for a while, but has finally made his mind up. Maybe his AU self wasn't entirely ( Read more... )

his au self would be proud, plot event, avoidance is his middle name, this isn't funny, experiment, at least it's not a nightmare for once, i hate experiments forever, at least he's himself this time, lucrecia, teleportation plot, this is awkward, because he needs more love angst, unintentional love confession

[ Definitely not what Willow was expecting to see upon entrance to her bedroom. ]

Uh... I-I think you have the wrong person.

[It's just as unexpected to Vincent, who stands there expressionless for a moment. This is definitely not where he was a moment ago.]

I have to agree. My apologies...

U-um, would you like something? While you're here and all. A drink or something?

I shouldn't intrude on your time. [Having never meant to intrude in the first place.] I assume the Malnosso are at fault for this.

You're not intruding! I-it could have been a lot worse. I'd assume the same. I guess this is what you guys call an experiment?

I have no doubt that it is. [That question she'd asked makes him realize something about her.] ...Are you new to Luceti?

Oh, well, I guess it could be a worse first experiment. [ Still not pleasant. ]

Oh, yeah. I've only been here for a few weeks. Got any pointers for a new person?

[Oh yes Vincent can think of ways it would be worse.]

Don't become too complacent. It's easy to fall into a false sense of security between experiments... but as long as we're here, we still remain prisoners and test subjects.

[ She nods seriously. ] So, it's like Sunnydale, then. Except more of the demon crazy dimensional variety and less the dustable vampire variety.

[ She frowns... and then it occurs to her. ]

Oh, uh. D'you want to come in? I was just thinking of making lunch.

You've lived in a place like this before?

[He supposes a short while would do no harm.]

I won't stay long.

Oh, well not exactly. [ She steps aside to let him in, closes the door, and then moves towards the large first room, which happens to be the kitchen. ] I mean, Sunnydale's had demons and vampires, so dealing with other crazy people here isn't so different. It's a taste of home I guess. The not-so-pleasant pieces of home.

What about you?

[ On the table rests the beginnings of a sandwich type thing, which she offers to Vincent politely. ]

...Thank you.

[Vincent takes the sandwich, using his regular hand of course. He figures that discussing a little of what he knows of here and anything else she may need to know, will serve as enough penance for the awkward way this started.]

Our world has its share of monsters and other malign forces. This place is no different than what I'm familiar with.

[ Willow's had many other encounters that were much more awkward than this. Vincent has nothing to worry about. She goes about making another sandwich for herself. ]

Sounds like more than a few of us are used to demons and weird things that crawl in the night. Ours mostly prefer the night. Some kinda power trip when your prey's fast asleep.

[ She shrugs. ]

The most horrific forces are all too often drawn to lurking in the night. [A pause as he's eating the sandwich.] Although we also had many people who were more... monsters than humans. [Non-literally, although even Hojo had morphed into something monstrous by the end.]

Y-yeah, we had those, too. [ Lookin' at you, Professor Walsch. ] And a real life Frankenstein once to go along with it.

[Vincent nods solemnly.] Such things seem unfortunately common among the various worlds.
