The Island (chapter 1)
Title: The Island

Kouyou watched as his teammates, Yuu, Akira,Yutaka and Takanori ran to the end of the weathered wooden pier. Its gray pilings creaked and groaned with the pull of the tide.
"I can't believe this!" Akira shouted over the crashing waves. "They left us here!"
Takanori had watched the boat pull away, the boat that carried 12 kids to that island two weeks earlier.
"They took everything!" Kouyou cried. "We're alone here! And there is no way home!"
Yuu frowned and then walked over to Kouyou only to wrap his arms around him in a comforting hug "But they'll come back for us." He said "It's all a test, right? They wouldn't really leave us here all alone--- Would they?"
Kouyou shivered as he was held still, he turned and gazed down at the beach to the eerie, blue rocks. The rocks glowed, even in the darkness.
We're not alone here, he thought. Something else lives here. Something evil. He could feel it even now....watching him.....waiting...waiting for the right moment to strike.
"We have to find a way out of--" Yutaka said but got interrupted by Kouyou "We've got to get off this island.....before it's too late."
(Hours later)
Hugging himself tightly, Kouyou stared down at the tossing ocean waves. A bolt of jagged lightning flashed on the horizon. In the sudden light, the water flared green, bright as day. Thunder crackled in the distance. Lightning flickered, closer this time. Shivering, Kouyou turned to his four friends "that storm is heading this way." He muttered.
"Perfect." Takanori said shaking his head bitterly. "We're abandoned on this empty island and we're going to be washed away."
"They'll come back for us." Yuu said, he pulled a beetle from his arm and threw it to the floor "They have to come back. This is probably some kind of test as I said before." He nodded softly
"But, Yuu, I don't see any boats in the water." Kouyou answered shivering again. He felt a heavy raindrop on his shoulder. Another one on top of his head. "They took the boats and left us here. They're not coming back."
"It's a survival test." Yuu insisted, Akira and the others could only watch and listen to them, they couldn't do more than that, after all everything seemed hopeless but they still didn't give up. "The director of the academy wouldn't abandon five students on an island, Kouyou. He wouldn't risk it because our parents would be looking for us and they know we were with the group that was with the director. If this gets out it will be a scandal and he would have to deal with the police for this so I'm sure this is all a test he's giving us to see if we are strong enough to survive this." He smiled and then held Kouyou close. The blonde male clinged to him and sniffled
"You really think so?" He asked sadly while looking up at the dark-haired male.
"I know so." Yuu replied and then kissed the top of his head "Now let's go to the cabin and get warm and see if they left any food behind for us. If they didn't then I'm sure we have to get our own food and do our best to survive."
