Me: Okay my dear readers. Let's have a seat now once more to continue the story that YOU want me to continue. *cough* Is the flu around? My, my...we don't want to get anyone else sick right? sooo... everyone better keep their distance cause your sweet writer has a bit of a cold and i don't want to get you sick. Today i really want to tell the story to all of you. well where were we? oh yeah the battle thing, here we go. Well.... *continues the story*
Hiroyuki and Chikako attempted to fight off the heaven's army. During that time, thunder could be heard and lightning could be heard across the dark sky. However, nearby villagers were unaware of this whole event. Even though it was all so suspicious, no logic could explain what was going on. To them, it was just another storm, for the battle was not visible to mortals.
After the intense battle, many of heaven's soldiers were injured by Hiroyuki's and Chikako's attacks. Seeing that there was no other choice, Takamasa knew he had to join the battle himself.
With his double-blade knife, he charged at Hiroyuki, who was occupied with the soldiers. Seeing that her love was endangered, Chikako quickly leaped over, attempting to knock the knife out of Takamasa's hand.
Seeing her racing toward him, he swiped his double-blade knife across Chikako's hip level. She managed to dodge it and immediately kicked him on the side of the neck. Takamasa shot his double-blade Knife toward Chikako. She could not move. She didn't know how to dodge this. Her life seemed to race pass her at that moment. She closed her eyes and waited for her death.
"Chikako!" Hiroyuki yelled as he became aware of what was happening. He quickly pushed a stream of water towards the double-blade Knife of Takamasa's and knocked his weapon off to the side, barely missing Chikako.
Takamasa diverted his attention toward him, and even though he knew he was no match for Takamasa, Hiroyuki was willing to fight as long as there was even the tiniest chance of survival with Chikako.
Takamasa stroked his double-blade knife toward Hiroyuki, who dodged it and released sharp needles towards Takamasa. Hiroyuki blocked them gracefully and slowly approached him.
Seeing that his attacks weren't working, Hiroyuki tried to get closer and closer to Takamasa. As soon as he got close enough, he blasted a powerful stream of water towards the double-blade knife. The pressure of the water pushed through Takamasa's weapon and wetted his face. He quickly blinked and saw Hiroyuki's palm heading towards him. He immediately dodged it and returned the attack. Hiroyuki fell to the ground as Takamasa pulled out his rope and locked Hiroyuki within it. Hiroyuki struggled, but it was useless, for no one had ever escaped from the wrath of the rope.
"Hiro… Hiroyuki," Chikako cried faintly as she tried to reach her hand toward him.
"Chi... Chikako," Hiroyuki cried, his voice weak and hoarse. Takamasa handed the captive to his men and approached Chikako with the intention to capture her.
Before he reached her, a sudden gust of smoke appeared and bounded the body of Chikako. After some of the smoke dispersed, another woman was sighted holding onto Chikako. She had an angry look on her face, her eyes filled with rage as she glared into the eyes of Takamasa.
"Big sister?" Chikako mumbled weakly as she struggled to widen her eyes.
Takamasa was stunned. "Ogata Kamiko?"
Kamiko released another large poof of smoke and when the smoke dispersed, they were gone. Kamiko had extraordinary powers even though she was a human.
"Chikako…" Hiroyuki mumbled as he watched them disappear. He knew that he might never be able see her ever again. The pain in his body could no longer be felt, for the pain in his heart was much greater. But maybe this was for the best. At least Chikako wouldn't have to suffer from the wrath of heaven.
"They've escaped," Takamasa muttered quietly. He turned around and faced his men. "Let's return to heaven."
High above the clouds, where no mortals could ever reach was the kingdom of heaven where all the gods and goddesses were. In this kingdom, there was a king, The Emperor who ruled over all the god and goddesses. Heaven was a strict place with a load of rules. However, it would always be full of joy and happiness.
Today, unlike the many others, the heaven's court that was located on the 9th level of heaven was filled with whispers and murmurs. All the gods wondered what was going to happen. They all knew of the story of Hiroyuki and the mortal, Chikako Ogata.
There were many gods gathered in the royal hall. At the end of the red carpet sat the Emperor in his golden chair. Next to him on his right was his mother, the beautiful Empress. All of them were waiting for the return of Takamasa.
At last Takamasa entered with the tied up Hiroyuki on his right and Byou by his left as a companion. He stopped before the Emperor and forced Hiroyuki onto his knees. Hiroyuki looked up shamefully into the eyes of the Emperor and stared at all the gods around him. Some that he had known, others that he had only heard of all surrounded him. All of them watched him with pity in their eyes. Hiroyuki lowered his head in humiliation.
"Emperor, I have brought Hiroyuki," said Takamasa as he bowed to the emperor. The Emperor nodded and Takamasa stood along the carpet with the other gods.
The Emperor slammed his hand onto the side of his golden chair with anger. "Hiroyuki. You are the one that guarded the Shizunai Gawa river. Do you know what treacherous crime you have committed?"
Hiroyuki did not dare to lift up his head or say a single word to the emperor.
"Just a few months ago, a small portion of your river flooded, due to the act of the demons and you not being able to protect it. This caused the death of many mortals already. Thanks to the many gods who plead for you, you were given the chance to mend your mistake. But instead of doing so, you fell in love with a mortal during that time! You know very well that love is forbidden!" The Emperor continued.
Hiroyuki raised his head and stared disappointed at the Emperor. "Why can't gods fall in love? You did and had many sons and daughters. Why can't other gods do so too? Is it because you are the Emperor? Does the title of the Emperor allow you to do everything that other gods can't?"
"You-- How dare you say such things?! Do you even know what you have done wrong?" the Emperor snapped.
"No! I do not know what I have done wrong because I didn't do anything wrong! What's wrong with loving someone? Mortals can do it, so why can't we? Why do you have to treat us the same way you did with Ryouhei and Kaoru?" Hiroyuki snapped back in anger.
"How dare you behave like this in front of me? Guards! Take him away and punish him with lightning!" the Emperor growled. His eyes glowed with fury.
"Emperor, calm down," interrupted the Empress, "Hiroyuki is still young. He doesn't know all the rules yet. I believe he can be forgiven. Give him a chance."
"Yes, Emperor, please give him a chance. He's still young and mistakes like these are common for young gods," begged Satoru, another God.
"Emperor, please give him a chance," The rest of the gods pleaded in unison. Hiroyuki looked around confusedly at the crowd of people whom pleaded for him.
The Emperor sighed "Due to all the ones who are pleading for you, I'll make your punishment light. Takamasa, I'll put him into your hands. Take him to the god of death. He will be reincarnated into a poor family's household and live one life as a mortal. Then, he will return to his position as a guardian of the Shizunai Gawa river."
"Yes, your highness," Takamasa replied.
"No! I will not reincarnate! I'll lose my memory! I can't forget her! Please don't do this!" Hiroyuki begged.
"Everyone is dismissed," The Emperor spoke as he left the place, ignoring Hiroyuki completely. Slowly, the other gods started to leave.
"Please Emperor! Please!" Hiroyuki cried as he laid on the ground with tears welding up in his eyes. Takamasa barely looked at him.
From the corner of his eye, Hiroyuki saw Takamasa standing there and watching him with a cold face.
"Why must he do this to us?" Hiroyuki cried. This time there was no anger in his voice, only sadness. Yet, Takamasa chose to ignore him, as if he felt nothing at all.
Takamasa forced Hiroyuki to bow on his knees once again when they reached the underworld. Hiroyuki looked around the frightening place where ghostly sounds were heard and faces were seen all over. The only colors that was visible were white, black, and green. There was no feeling of life there, only the feeling of death. He heard the bubbling sound of oil behind him, causing his fear to rise even more.
