Reminder to Self:

Aug 12, 2014 18:05

If ever going to be spending extended periods of time in Houston, can console myself with wonderful stores. Jack-in-the-Box, Sonic, Carl's Jr, Whattaburger, Red Robin, Bedrock Comics, Half Price Books, Movie Exchange, and a terrifyingly active CCG community. It's trite in the big picture of things, but it's a nice reminder that even in places that are not home, there is something different to enjoy (and I don't mean the sights, because I am an avid lover of the indoors).

I do wonder why such stores are not more widely spread, say on the East Coast. Real-estate prices? Greater prevalence of the internet?

The Chinese/Taiwanese community here is so prevalent that in some places, the road signs are in Chinese.

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I was last here. Time flies like the wind, and I need to take what opportunities I can find to spend time with my extended family.
