THE SIMPLE PLEASURES MEME
Name ten of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.
1. Traveling somewhere new. I like going places, anywhere. As long as I have a good traveling companion or someone to see/meet at this new destination. Otherwise it gets kinda boring.
2. Eating something new. Some people might know that I'm a sucker for a menu with some new animal on it that I've never tasted before. "Wildebeest? Sign me up!"
3. Eating really really good chocolate. This does not qualify as something new. Chocolate is magical. Good chocolate is just... mmmmmm.
4. Reading. I don't do it as often, but every once in a while, it's good to just grab a book and blow an afternoon reading it cover to cover.
5. Writing. This would be better if I was better at it, true, but even so, I love writing out stories and ideas and stuff. Even if most of my ideas fizzle out after a few pages, it's still... what's that word? Cathartic? Yeech, what a stupid word. Remind me not to use that in future aborted writing projects.
6. Watching movies. Again, those who know me know that that does not mean "watching GOOD movies". Au contraire. I like bad action flicks. Give me The Rock and Ahnold and lots of splosions and special effects and maybe some ninjas and zombies and more splosions. I must have it.
7. Roller coasters. Six Flags Great Adventure has not yet lost its magic, and I'm certainly open to other parks in the vicinity. High speed action is all good. More so with everybody's pal Q-Bot.
8. Nature. This seems a bit odd for me, but seriously, I love a hike through the forest, or some camping and rafting, or mountains and scenery, anything of that nature (ooh, a pun!). I could walk for ages if I had a nice scenic trail to follow.
9. Gaming. Yes, I'm a gamer geek at heart. Computer games and board games and RPGs are all within my domain. I just wish I had more time and more folks around to game with.
10. A good party with good friends. And no, by "good friends" I do not mean Mr. Gin and Mr. Vodka, although they're usually invited too. The Hive is good people, and so are many others. Some of whom need to drink more. Some of whom, maybe less. Heh.
THE WEIRD HABITS MEME
The first player of this game starts with the "6 weird things/habits about yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a blog of their 6 weird habits/things as well and state this rule clearly. In the end you need to choose the 6 people to be tagged and list their names.
1. I like planning things. But I hate when things deviate from the plan.
2. Often, when I'm nervous or bored or thinking, I'll pull the hairs out of my beard. One by one. Right down to the roots.
3. I am severely aquaphobic. Large bodies of water (which is pretty much swimming pools and larger) are not for me. But I will ride a boat or raft on the water. It's the immersion that's bad.
4. My sense of humor is a bit too all-encompassing. I have a hard time being serious because I just can't resist thinking up jokes about... well, anything.
5. I have no wisdom teeth. They just never existed. Whether I have wisdom or not as a result is a matter of debate. In addition, one of my teeth was fused to another, and as a result I only have three lower incisors instead of the normal four.
6. I don't usually eat breakfast.
