I live in one of the crappiest, lowest income apartment complexes in everett, mainly because it is the only place I can live with seven cats. We pay the lowest rent around. I just went to a "yard sale" in someone's apartment. It consisted of a couch full of crap, mostly baby clothes and old purses, and two boxes of the same. One item I found looked good... a bag with about 10 packages of little kid hair bands, the soft stretchie kind. These are the kind Dan uses. The bag said 2.50 on it and I thought this was a really good deal. When I went to pay for them I was informed that they were 2.50 a package! Now, when I buy them at Fred Meyers, I pay 99 cents a pack!! I told them this and they said that these were "special" and more expensive.... until I turned them over and showed them the price label! Needless to say, I didn't come home with hair bands, and I am more convinced than ever that people that live here, really need a reality check... They are low income, yet many drive really nice cars and wear really expensive clothes and jewlery.... and apparently they seem to think that their "yard sale" is more special and deserves more than it's worth as well. Several other items were priced over the store price also... and the tags were still on them! I guess I am not as stupid or gullible as they are hoping others will be!
