So there is a really good thread on an unamed forum about companie's/store's big lies. Here is a snip from someone who worked in loss prevention at an unamed 'major national department store chain' as he puts it.
The doors on our fitting rooms were hung upside down so it was possible to see into the fitting room to watch suspects change, etc.
I don't agree with this. Check the doors before you change!
Taxes...
Also, really, whether or not you get audited really comes down to whether or not data entry is paying attention, can read your handwriting, and double-checks their entries before overriding does-not-balance errors. Or, if I was feeling spiteful I could concievably enter one character into one field when I enter your tax forms, and you will get audited. I may or may not get caught and probably, at worst, would get an official reprimand.
Someone else posted this, but I like reading it for fond memories...
I used to work in a One-Hour photo shop. The 'One-Hour' was a lie, generally if it wasn't busy we could have your pictures done in about 15 minutes, 7 minutes of which was sitting around reading a magazine waiting as your film went through the processor and another 7 or so minutes of magazine reading after putting it through the printer waiting for the finished prints.
We opened at 9am, but wouldn't take in any print orders for before 11am, claiming that the machines took time to start up. In reality this took about 10 minutes at the start of the day to do a test print, making sure there were no improper colour/brightness/contrast levels indicated on the results screen and if there were any, just do another test print as it would automatically calibrate itself to correct the error.
Similarly, our closing time was 5:30pm but we would stop taking in print orders at 4-4:30pm saying that we had to shut the machines down. Again, this really didn't take more than 20 minutes even if you were taking it easy by finishing your reading and giving the machine parts that needed to be washed a reeeeeally good clean.
More to come...
