So! Let's run over how things went today, hmm?
First of all: snow. Now, normally, I love snow.
But today's snow was not that snow. No, today was that thick, slushy, sloshy snow that often hardens to ice at the bottom. The kind that they really should be plowing and salting the streets for, but usually don't bother to start until a week after the fact.
The kind that makes my 4-wheel-drive truck STRUGGLE on most streets.
Yeah, that kind. Fun!

As I got to work, there were already 4 deliveries waiting for me. And I'm the only driver on til 7PM. Most of them were late already... and the estimated times we'd been giving out were "an hour or so."

I got snapped at by so many people, I lost count. For things that are entirely not my fault. Yeah, so it's snowing so bad I can barely see through my windshield, and my truck starts fishtailing if I go more than twenty miles per hour? Screw you, my continued survival as a human being is at least slightly more important than your eight dollar pizza which you don't even tip me for.

This one guy was horrible... and confusing. He called the store several times, screaming about how long it was taking for his order, complained and swore at me about it when I got there... but still tipped me five bucks. But I honestly was half a second from taking his food out of the bag, throwing it in the snow, and walking away when he opened the door and started up. I'm still surprised I didn't.

Later in the day, I had to deliver to this one house... which had a driveway on a different street. So I ended up passing it up, no big deal... pull in to the next driveway and turn around, right? Except not. My truck decided not to turn all the way and plow head first into a friggin' snow bank. I had to go to the house and get help to push it out.

Keep in mind I was generally taking 4 or 5 orders out at a time, all over town. In horrible weather. With whiny, entitled, ungrateful customers to deal with. On a 6 hour shift, I spent a grand total of maybe 10 minutes not driving. Which is normally fine, but today... ugh.

And at some point along the way, my gloves had fallen out of my pocket. And I really, really liked those gloves.

Nearing the end of my shift, we FINALLY have a second driver, and I only have two orders to take now. I find this house... and it has no driveway. Or rather, its entire front yard and driveway are covered in 3 feet of snow, making it impossible for me to tell where the driveway IS. Soooo I park on the side of the road. Bring them their food, get a decent tip, back to my truck... it won't move.
Turns out I had parked slightly into the gutter, which just so happened to be FILLED WITH SOLID ICE. I try rocking it back and forth to get out, pushing it, etc.... go back to the house, ask for help... still no luck. In the process of trying to push it out, the door swung closed... with the keys in the ignition... and locked
itself.

Called home to get my spare keys, but I had to wait for about 20 minutes out in the cold. With no hat or gloves and only a fleece jacket. My mom and aunt showed up to help.

We FINALLY get my truck out and running again, so then we head back to the store (they insisted to follow me just in case). But wait! I still had another delivery order! So, as it had been an hour and a half past the estimated hour time, they gave it to them for free. But rather than just take my truck there and back, "we" decided that my aunt and mom would drive me there and back to the store, then follow my truck home "just in case." Not really too much of a problem, didn't feel like arguing.

SO! Finally done, go in to cash out, take out the garbages like I always do at the end of my shift, head out to leave... and my keys are gone. I have no clue where. They could be anywhere in or around the store - which had just been shoveled and snow plowed - or in the garbage can - or back at my last delivery.
And to top it all of, the spare key my mom brought - only unlocks the doors, doesn't start the ignition!

SO! Here I am sitting at home, with my truck in the parking lot at work, waiting until tomorrow morning when we can call the dealership to get a new key made.

But on that keychain, I lost...

- all my house keys
- a key to a padlock I no longer have
- the keys to the stuff I used to lock down my computer and monitor back at college in Syracuse (I have doubles of these, though)
- this clicky keychain separator thing I got from my grandpa ;o;
- PetSmart PetPerks card thing, though I really never used it anyway
- GameStop PowerUp Rewards Card with $86 store credit on it
- various other keys I never use but still care about for some strange reason

Yeah x_o And I still have class tomorrow, and homework to do for Wednesday, and... ugh ._.
