That's precisely the topic of the massive term paper I'm slaving over today.

Thank you, you helped me rethink a few important points.

Damn I wish I was at home, but I have been staying at my old places taking care of the pets for a couple days.
reason being is I have this great article From the American Journal of Psychology about Masochism as an escape from self that could have potentially help you with your paper.

I would be really interested in reading your paper when you are done

Was the author Roy Baumeister? It sounds like him. I have most of his journal articles and one of his books. All are quite good, but given that they were written in the 80s, there needs to be a little updating.

I've also been doing peripheral research on religious and sexual induction of trance states. If you have any info that helps tie the two together, I would be very grateful.

so I have directed a facebook friend (derby ref from victoria) to you. He replied to my post there and said he was talking to his publishers about a book on "The Yoga of Kink" - about Raja Yoga (the discipline of the mind) and BDSM. I thought he might be able to help you with your research

Excellent. Thank you!

Would you be interested in casual email correspondence on the subject? I have an awful lot of journal articles and scanned texts available that I'd love to share. Mine is [stellaatscientiasexualisdotcom].

actually I found it in my sent mail so I could send it to you if you are still working on your paper and interested.
It is actually from the Journal of Sex Research not Psychology, I was wrong but if you have access to those journals through your school and want to search for it
