Birthdays and Parties

Sep 02, 2006 11:19

The above are seperate topics for the purposes of this entry. Some of you know the regularity with which I host parties, either through attendance, invites, or reading about them on here. If you're feeling neglected, don't get upset just drop me a line. The point I was about to make though, was that over the years certain people have become fixtures of my party scene. Julie was the person to bring this to my attention, and she has the 3rd most longevity of the people who have become fixtures to my 'scene' if you would. Before dropping any other names, realize that the people who are fixtures to these parties are the recurring individuals. If my parties were a series, they'd be the central characters. These parties gained regularity sometime during or after 1999. Brandon (Irish/Asian kid that barely anyone knows) and Colin (aka Peter Pan) have her beat out, having been coming since the initial parties, but it is a little sad that Julie, who only got involved the Halloween of my junior year has been to nearly every, if not every, party I've hosted at my house since then. What's with everybody else was my intial reaction. But sensing that isn't fair, it caused me to reevaluate certain people, like Julie, who've made the effort time and again to show up. Julie's just an award winner having shown up after a full day of fencing, or with a fever, or the list goes on.

On a different note, today is my birthday. The best day of the year on facebook is your birthday. Sure, everyone is given a reminder that its your birthday, but for every shout out you get on your wall, you can't mean to tell me you don't feel good about it.
