I'm not a fan of endings, yet after something comes to a close, I feel the need to write a livejournal entry about it. Convention? Habit? Tradition? Take your pick. I feel like my formatting is predictable, perhaps that's just an added bonus for those of you that know me?
A preface to the Spring 2006 Set of Words
I feel like I was sort of out of touch with a lot of people this semester, especially at the end. No offense guys, but coming to have extremely close friends at NJIT sort of put me off of AIM. That being said...
Melissa, while a lot of people made the semester amazing for me, I feel like you set that into motion in a lot of ways. "Do you even go to this school?" The cafe, o so many things! I love you dearly, even if you do intend to kill me one day. Also, introducing you to your soulmate was the least I could do.
Ryan, no matter what you've got my back. Likewise, though sometimes I guess I worry that isn't clear enough.
Veronica, we've got something special, and I feel like we're lucky to have come across one another. You've got one more semester as an undergrad at NJIT, let's make sure it's Wild and not Mild. JOIN SPECTRUMMMMM
Jojo, love letters, throwing people under buses, the Jojo Special, only a few of the good times we've shared. It's a bummer you're so far away, especially since we've got so much lost time to make up for. You make me feel really special, and I'd be remiss if I ever made you feel like anything less than that.
Jim Pac, aka Black Hate Machine, aka Jimbeeeeeeeans, awesome just comes with the name I suppose. I mean, you couldn't help but be a great guy. So I guess what I'm trying to say is keep it up.
Nishant, aka the Indian Steve Urkel, you're hilarious in a totally unique way, and you're scholarly. A blend that I definitely need to be around more often, perhaps even one that I'm jealous of in a few ways.
Jillian, props on being well timed. Also, props on studying for chemistry with me, being the likeable Asian, and a ton of other things I feel like I'm forgetting.
Fran and Ray, you guys were good because I had somewhere to go work in the wheeee hours of the morning. Before the cafe I mean. Still, a special shout out.
Last but certainly not least, someone who totally and completely changed the face of my semester:
Wanny. Opening a cafe in Newark, she changed a lot of people's lives, but I think it changed Melissa's and myself's the most. Feel free to rebutt, but Wanny has become a really good friend to both of us, not to mention has given me a place to sleep more than once, and even gotten me dinner one time. I guess what I've got with Wanny was most unexpected, people say as you get older age doesn't really matter as much, finding myself to be good friends with a 33 year old sort of shows that.
Then again on the age thing, my closest friend in the world for how many years was my grandfather. A lot of things remind me of him, I've thought of him a lot this semester. I can help but think that means I'm doing something right, now the trick is just keeping it up. A mother's day update later.
