Job Search Chronicles: Part 3

Jul 24, 2008 19:18

So in the time since I last posted about my sad lack of employment, I managed to get a rather lucrative (in theory) position as a sampling manager at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston and at the Comcast Center in Mansfield. Babysitting 5 people while they hand out gum samples seems simple enough, and it is. Making $20 an hour to do it is peachy. But when they tell you to drive for up to 3 1/2 hours per event and don't pay you for that or the gas that gets you there it goes downhill. I gave it the good old college try but driving 2 hours to work for 2 hours in that HORRID storm we had last night and thereby making something like $10 on the night after gas is a bit much. So, in short, no. I resigned and they can send a truck to get all of their crap back. Back to the drawing board.
