The Job Search Chronicles Begin!
So, I'm quite unemployed at the moment and am therefore in need of a job. After a lot of digging online and in the classifieds, I got an interview at an event promotions company in Riverside. The drive sucks but whatever, it's event promotions. I did the first round interview, nailed it, and got a second interview. That 'interview' happened today. They said it was an all day thing where you pretty much shadow present employees doing the job. Fine. Here's what that ended up being like...
Meet trainer (age 19) and another trainee (age 20)
Drive an hour and a half to a K-Mart in Fitchburg
Spend 5 hours outside 'promoting' D.A.R.E.
(Read: sell toys under the guise of promoting the cause)
Trainer: "So is this something that you could see yourself doing?"
Me: "Honestly, no."
Drive an hour and a half back to Riverside
Trainer: "You're free to go." (Yea, it did feel like jail.)
Employment strikeout.
