In Like A Lion, Perhaps?
I spent the majority of today moping around the house trying in vain to come up with a way to go to NYC for a show at the end of the month. The venue is 21+ and the only way I can get my 20 year-old self in is if a parent comes and babysits me. They check ID's on anyone who looks under 30. For those of you about to suggest that I get a fake ID, I'd rather not try to use one only to get banned from the club and possibly arrested in NYC. They are VERY strict about it there. So, that's not a cool option. Mom's quite resistant to the premise and I know that if Mom is a no-go, so is Dad. I've even suggested the idea of a family weekend in NYC that happens to include going to this show with no success. I think I'm just going to offer Mom gas money and split the driving with her so that we don't have to spend the night. It'll be a long day but it's the best I can do. *sigh* Being 20 blows.
