Hi, LJ folks! Who's still here? This is a repost from Facebook, but unfortunately the situation is still quite relevant. Onward:
Friends, I did something dumb.
A couple of months ago I went to one of those payday loan places. Well, it was necessary at the time, and I've been paying it back faithfully every other week....and then of course reborrowing, because I still have bills to pay. I'd like to pay it off completely in a month.
But, because I was out sick twice during the last pay period, even with the money I made from selling my dulcimer, I don't have quite enough to pay it back this time. SOOO....I'm declaring a knit-in for charity (mine and others of your choice, once I pay this thing off). For a donation of $12 or more (the approximate cost of the yarn for your chosen project) I'll make you a warm, fuzzy mohair tam-o-shanter in the color of your choice (that's quickest) or another hat, scarf or small knitted item* of your choice.**
Any donations would go to zenspinner@yahoo.com via PayPal; message me with your color/material/item preference and your address. The tams go quickly; I should be able to get several done before Christmas.
*Socks don't count, unless you only want one. All the years I've been knitting, I've never managed to turn out a second sock.
**You can choose a large knitted item, but bear in mind it'd probably take a lot longer and cost more in materials.
