It wasn’t surprising to see Rick’s tattoos. He had gone shirtless from time to time, after all. On the other hand, seeing that Don had one of a pink bunny on the small of his back, Molly thought, was mildly disturbing.
However, Molly wouldn’t even register the bunny tattoo until much later; her mind had short-circuited at the scene before her. Rick with another guy? OK, she could wrap her mind around that. After all, she was absolutely sure Jordan had a giant obvious crush on the man. Don, her father, with one? Brain a’splode.
Don calmly pulled up his pants and turned to face the girl. He said with as much dignity as he could gather under the circumstances, “Molly, there is a perfectly logical explanation for all this…”
“He just needs to come up with it first,” Rick said with a half-smile.
“Right, I just need-“ Don repeated until his realized what the former champion had said. “You’re not helping matters,” he grumbled.
As soon Molly regained some of her mental facilities, she attempted a reply. “Er, well, as long as you’re happy, I guess.” She turned and started to go, mumbling, “Bad time to bring it up…”
On her way out, however, she literally bumped into a certain Neurasian prince. If one were perceptive, they might think something was off about him. “Have you told him yet?” Aikka asked. He peered past her to the two human males at the desk, then looked back to her. “I know I do not fully understand your culture yet, but I assume we came in at a bad time?”
“Oh, yeah,” the girl agreed with a nod.
Don narrowed his eyes at the alien. “Molly, what is the competition doing here?”
“Uh…” the girl said, slowly backing away towards the door. “Y’see… Ikindaknockedhimup.”
The older man’s jaw dropped. “WHAT?! How…?!?”
Molly nervously laughed. “Alien biology is a funny thing…”
