Last year I posted
this, and this year once again we got through all the prep work and the sedarim and the rest of pesach with a lot less fuss than I remember from many of past years. This year I also remembered the too-strong maror from last year, so after G cut the maror we left it out uncovered for a couple of hours, and that plus him cutting some of it into very thin strips for me worked very well - still very bitter, but with little enough sting that I could actually taste the bitterness and not just *ow*.
I'm not sure if something like this can count as a chazaka, but I do have a sense that now that we've done it 3 times in a row it's become the new default, and as long as we pay some attention we should be able to continue doing things this way in the future.
