I guess rock & roll isn't what it used to be...
This morning's commute included a young woman (probably high school or college age) who boarded the subway and started calling, in the standard I've-got-stuff-for-sale sing-song, "Free sex, free drugs, free soda... free sex, free drugs, free soda..."
Over the course of the next 25 minutes (and probably longer - she showed no sign of stopping when I left the train) she rambled fairly coherently about free stuff and why it was good, except for sex with children (which was distinctly bad), gradually merging into what would have been a fairly standard christian preaching-on-the-subway except for the fact that her style stayed consistent with her original tone and her message occasionally wandered back there too.
She also wasn't absurdly loud, unlike most of the subway preachers, so all in all it was more amusing than annoying, and not too bad a way to transition from home to work.
transit,
