(Yeah, yeah... I've been slacking.)
I'VE COMPLETED VAN'S STANDBY ROLES! Yay, me!
If I have to rate:
Johnny >
Tunny > Will.
I gobbled up his Johnny. I loved it so freaking much. When I saw him as Tunny, it was his Idiot debut so I couldn't really say much about it. As for his Will, eh... it's okay, I guess.
This show marked my second lotto win - first time legit because during the "first time", almost everyone won haha. We got
BB105 seats. Or it's what I call "getting Stark's pick seats" -- that is, if he gives it out that night. And yes, I did get it. However, he flicked it at me. I had to pick it up from the floor. XD I still did get spit on LMAO.
It was a fun show. One of the better ones. Except for the time when a stage hand had to give Rebecca a handheld during LNOE. Haha, the girl behind me said, "Oh just like a concert now?" John's mic failed for a word or two when he took off his party hat. Of course, sitting lotto, it didn't make a difference because we could hear everything well.
Stark saw and warned a recorder during "Holiday". A man two seats to my left was doing some recording too. We talked to him about that later and he was like, "I saw he was holding something and there was a light and I thought, 'Dude, you can't do that.' (I didn't add the 'Dude' part lol.) I'm sure there are people doing it too up in the balcony but what can you do? It proves that he loves the show, I guess." I almost blurted out, like the complete idiot I am, that someone was successful recording from ORCHESTRA. But I stopped myself; I'm a SANE thinking person LOL.
And Leslie being back as ensemble. I missed her so much! She is my favorite person to watch on the Idiot stage. Her energy is just... I missed her hanging bit on "Holiday".
Okay, Van!Will. I really don't have much to say about it. His Will was younger, definitely. Vocally, he was good. It's just... I feel that with the role of Will (and Heather - I will get to that later), the actor needs to have more depth. I'm not saying Van does not have depth. What I'm trying to say is Michael (and I guess, Declan) has this certain air around him. It's like his Will is older and more tormented. And Van's Will was... idk, I didn't feel much for his Will. I believe that Will is the most difficult role to play on Idiot and hats off to Esper for that. Van didn't bring much as Will. But I'm still glad I was able to see it.
And Heather. I admit, I liked Jeanna's first performances. But she really needs to stop doing THE FACE. I know this show requires a lot of attitude but what's with the Kiera Knightley face? I know Jeanna is young (my age, actually) but I don't think Heather bounces like a little school girl. Again, I am NOT comparing her to Mary or Libby. It's my personal view of the character and how I would prefer it to be portrayed.
After the show, I told
Leslie and Van that I saw their Van!Johnny and Lesliesername night. It was the first time they've done it. :) Leslie is just my favorite girl at stagedoor; always smiling. <3 They are so adorable. [Yep, Van did that creepy touching thing again. Difference now is that I'm dead sober instead of tipsy like I was before lmao.]
