[If you're wondering why I go over and over again, well... I leave NY in exactly a week. It makes me sad thinking about that. I will miss this show so much - the actors and the wonderful people I've met through it. Next week, I'll probably go one more time just to say goodbye to the cast.]
Oh the sweet irony! I was bitching about fans
singing along and talking during a show not too long ago. And like I said, I just mouth the words SILENTLY so I don't ruin it for other people. Well, here comes Stark Sands to "reprimand" me for allegedly "talking while the show was going on" (his words, verbatim). LMAO!
Okay, back story. If you read my
25 May 2010 post, you'll know that I planned to go to St. James on Friday again to, at the very least, stage door. Jon Huertas, Stark's Generation Kill brother will be there to watch the show. It's a full circle moment for me because Jon had mentioned that he'll be going to NYC in May to watch Idiot when I first met him last
February. Anyway, I figured I can go early and try out for lotto. I met Johnny and Jenny and Anya while waiting in line. Ann joined me not too long after. I saw John Gallagher, Jr. walk past, clearly in a hurry. (I have accepted that I will never get a legit photo with him. I am content with being his focal point a couple of times during "When It's Time" and "WMUWSE".)
As usual, shit for luck doesn't work too well. But good timing does. I planned to get box seats if I don't win the lotto but still, 12 seats will go quickly if you have more than 12 people eager to see the show. Jenny won the lotto for her and Johnny. Call it beginner's luck (like the last time LOL) because this was her first time watching the show. Ann and I didn't win and I was about to leave the Box Seats line when this girl (who won) behind me was thinking of whether to give up her ticket or not. She wants to watch WITH her friends -- there were three of them and they all want to sit together. Ann and I dived right in. We said we'll take her tickets if she doesn't want them. And guess what? WE GOT THEM! =) Orchestra Row BB 101 and
102. At first, I thought it was the same seat as I had last time I got lotto seats (BB 1 and 2, can't blame me there lmao) which were in front of Will's couch. But it turns out,
BB 101-102 is at the other side of the stage... RIGHT IN FRONT OF TUNNY'S RECLINER! (Orange dot = my seat; Green dot = Ann's seat.) Needless to say, I was almost losing my shit. From my
seat, I could've grabbed a half-naked Tunny by the ankles and caught Gerard Canonico when he almost fell off the stage. This was my third consecutive time sitting at Orchestra and my first time at House Right. And oh! Johnny's and Jenny's seats were across the aisle to my right. =D
I had to break a C-note so I bought one of the new
programmes available for $20 at the gift shop. Oh great, something new for them to sign. It's awesome! Anyway, like I mentioned earlier Jon Huertas was in attendance. (One of the reasons why I planned to get Box Seats was because you can see most of the Orchestra section.) Since, I didn't expect to get lotto tickets, I had to look around to see if I can spot him. LMAO, I had better seats than Jon! XD He tweeted that he's there and I ask him where he's at. He twitpics and sure enough, the show was about to start so I couldn't look around anymore. Bummer. But according to him,
he saw me. Oh geez. HAHA!
Anyway, the show.
Omar Lopez-Cepero was in for Ben Thompson and
Joshua Kobak was in for Tony Vincent as St. Jimmy. I was excited! For a show that I've seen five times before, it still surprises me. Personally, I was frickin' distracted. I mean, TUNNY WAS SO CLOSE! Stark couldn't take his shirt off fast enough at the end of "Holiday" so he just left his socks on and jumped on the bed. He was discreetly removing them under the blanket during "Favorite Son". Hehe, I was watching him all right. Stark also "flubbed" a line during "21 Guns". Actually, I think it's the tech's fault. When your mind breaks the spirit of your... then his mic was turned off and on again and he repeated ... soul. Joshua Kobak surprised me. Sure, he's not Tony Vincent but man, he's good as St. Jimmy. I notice that his fake tattoos on both his shoulders are just larger prints of the skull tattoo on Tunny's arm. And Joshua was wearing extensions to mimic the one side of St. Jimmy's hair. He was so engaging in that role and I'm glad I got to see it. He has nipple piercings too... and that made me STARE, to be perfectly honest.
Come "Good Riddance" time, I had one mission: to get Stark's guitar pick. I told myself, if I get his pick, I'll be happy. If not, I want Declan's and/or anybody that is not Mike or Alysha (because I already have theirs). After their bows, Stark spotted me and simply placed his pick in my hand. OH
JOY! I guess I was wrong when I said "there is no way I'm getting to sit up front and get a pick, let alone Stark's pick" during my second time watching. Hehehe...
We met Christine at the after party. As usual, Mr. Andrew Call was the first one out. You can't be sure which Andrew you'd get - either the off or chatty one. It's tricky talking to him haha. This time, he was a bit chatty. "Hello ladies" became the greeting of the night. ;-) He noticed that I bought the new programme and loved it. Some fans noticed that we were pretty chatty with him to they stuck around us. Clever! I got myself a Bud Light ($7, really) and guess what... they're serving them in PLASTIC bottles! I almost freaked when I gripped the bottle and I sort of squeezed it. It was neat.
We spotted Miguel and the "hello ladies" continued. What happened to "hey guys"? LMAO. Libby! Oh I love her. I thanked her for commenting on my pic and she said she loved it so much. "It was so cool. It's like we're in our jungle with my plant and all." I love her. I've been mentioning that Christina has been the first one to greet me. When she did this time, she was said, "Oh girl, getting your drink on!" HAHA! [At least no dreams here about being questioned whether I'm old enough to drink or not.] We caught
Theo at the lobby and had him on video greeting Isabelle a happy birthday. And because lefties rule, another photo with
Mike. (I don't want to be creepy but I've seen the shirt before. Heheh...)
Christine finally met the elusive Van Hughes. I was there. I saw it happen. But my attention was grabbed by a certain Stark Sands.
He waved at me. He. Waved. At. Me. I didn't even get to say hi when he said, "You're in trouble, missy." LMAO, wait what? I said, "Why? What did I do?" He signed my programme.
"I saw you talking while the show was going on," he said, capping his pen. I went a bit pink around the ears because I remembered my blog post about that very issue a few days back. "Me? Talking? I was singing along-ish!"
"You know better than that," he said, poking me on the shoulder. Seriously... HOW FUCKING CUTE WAS THAT? I pouted because he was giving me one of those "don't fuck with my men" looks. (GK fans, you know what this looks like, right?)
I was legit starting to feel bad when he said, "Nah, I'm just joking. I'm glad you were enjoying yourself." And then he puts his arm around me, pulling me to his side, ready for a photo. Ah Sands... you are learning. We meet = obligatory
photo. He then goes off to the side to take a photo with someone and sign playbills. Then he turns back to me smiling. I asked about Jon.
"Oh uhm... I guess he's not coming out. He went to the backstage to say hi and then he left. I don't think he'll be here at the bar. You didn't see him? I think he was at Row C." he asked, still signing said playbills. (Seriously, is this surreal or what?)
And for some reason, I didn't lose my head and kept it cool. "Well, he tweeted at me. Even sent me a photo of where he was sitting (he grinned at that) but the music was already starting. Oh well. Have a good night!"
"Okay, you too. Night!"
*grin*
That seemed like a long time but it was less than five minutes tops.
Since we are talking about Stark, I heard he hasn't been 100% lately. I hope he'll be okay next week. I plan to go at least one last time to say goodbye to the cast. (Boy, that was hard to type.) Lucky number 7.
But hey, it's still one more week and a lot of things can happen! For now, where are videos of the Rhode Island Sound Navy Rock Band doing
Bad Romance and
Beat It.
