25 May 2010, This is Relevant to a GK fan's interest

May 26, 2010 21:32

I watched Next to Normal with kirabella1588 on the 24th.  Last night, the 25th, we watched American Idiot.  I tried the lotto and yes, I have shit for luck so I didn't win.  That's cool; after seeing it from the FRONT ROW, I don't care anymore where I sit!  I was going to try for box seats but Kira, oh bb I love you, she offered to pay for my ticket and she asked for "the best you've [box office] got" which at that time was Orchestra J 105.  OMG, it was level with the stage -- you can see EVERYTHING.  (Both times I've been to orch, I didn't pay for my ticket.)

[I realize that apart from Avenue Q and Volleygirls, I haven't written a review about any show I've seen.  Heh.]

Before the show, they were interviewing Leslie McDonel outside.  Both Ben Thompson and Declan Bennett weren't in.  Omar Lopez-Cepero was in for Dec and Joshua Kobak was in for Ben.  Funny moment during "Homecoming", when Will was holding back Johnny from pushing Tunny away, Mike (Will) was a bit late in the cue and Johnny faceplanted onto Stark's chest.  Right above the "CLARKE" name.  LMAO!

I've stage doored more times than I've watched the show -- it's free and come on, the cast knows us by now so it's easier to cut through the crowd.  I was with Kira, Ann, and Chris by the barricades (they let people in during weekends).  It was so cool because when Christina came along, she pointed at me and said, "Hi sweetie, nice to see you again!"  Well there, we're BFFs now.  XD  (Now I know why my friend said that stage dooring with me increases her chances of talking to/meeting the cast haha.)  Andrew... oh Andrew -- I wanted them to sign my Rage/Love shirt (I desperately need to break a C-note) but apparently, silver Sharpies fail.  Don't worry, I can still wear the shirt!  Joshua Henry aka ChocoTHUNDER was all summery in his straw fedora, shorts, and flipflops.

Now, for the relevance to Generation Kill.

So last night at stage door, I was talking to Stark (yes, talking to ME while signing other stuff… I’m a boss like that hahaha).  Ann tried to get it on video.  There's a 15-second one; you can barely hear what we were talking about.  It's not much but here it is:  click.  I finally got to ask him about NATE FICK, the character he portrayed on GK.  I asked him if he's still in contact with him.  He said and I quote, "Yeah, here and there.  I mean, I have his E-mail address and phone number."  He moves on to another fan to sign a playbill and... comes back to me to chat some more.  "I call him sometimes but he hasn't been here to see the show yet."

I also asked him if other GK boys have watched the show.  "Yeah, Rudy was here.  And Alex (!!!!!)..." then he paused to take a photo with a fan.  Then, “Jon Huertas, who played Espera, will be in town tomorrow and will watch Friday."  A Castle fan, told me that Jon mentioned in his Twitter than he'll be in NYC on Wednesday.  So I went, "But Jon said on Twitter he'll be in town Wednesday."  Stark answered, "In town on Wednesday.  Not sure, don’t quote me on that though.  But that’s what he told me, Friday.”  That whole conversation while he was collecting playbills from other fans to sign.  LMAO, sorry other fans... I kinda hogged him to myself (and the Idiot Army Girls).

After that, he made his way on the street, about to go but I wanted a photo (I take a picture with him every time I meet him, go figure).  So yeah, we took pics - Ann even asked him to smile lmao - and I repeat what he said earlier to confirm.  And, “I just want both of you to sign my GK book.”

He said, “That’s cool.  No problem.  Yep, see you Friday?”  [I just died right there.  LMAO.]

“I’ll be here.  Take care!”

“Yep, you too.  Good night!”  And like the other night, I’m the last fan to talk to him before he went home.  :)

And not five minutes after, I receive Jon’s tweet.  I almost dropped my phone.  It was… surreal, in a way.  At least that was what I felt.  Judging by my tweet, it looked like were IRL friends or something bwahaha.

But really, I hope I get to meet Jon again.  And Stark… again.  LMAO!  [And probably try out Box seats haha.]  I would just be the happiest GK fan!  (James Ransone is in NY too so... !!!)
So that was that.  (She's right... I am an idiot... hee!)  But the night did not end there.  Ann, Christine, and I were on a mission to have the whole cast sign a poster (for me, I need a LEGIT photo WITH John Gallagher, Jr.) and have Theo Stockman say happy birthday on video for Isabelle.  It wasn't even 10pm when we exited the theatre and we left St. James at 11:15pm.  We spent a good two hours just standing there talking about stuff.

Ever notice the security camera mounted by the other door (not stage door)?  Haha, we were imagining what if we can be seen by the camera and they (the cast members who have not yet come out, or so we thought) were watching us.  Well, I wink and wave at every security camera I see so that's no problem to me.  Our conversations were just totally random so I guess a bullet list works:
  • We have resorted to calling Van Hughes as... Van Hughes.  Yep, so when Christine finally gets to meet him -- we will not get his attention by just calling him "Van".  ;-)  And I know I am not making sense.  LMAO!
  • To increase the chances of meeting Van Hughes, Ann said she knows where he parks his bike.
  • No one was exiting the theater.  :(  Maybe they were having a sleepover?  Hahaha!
  • We kept waving at the camera from time to time.  The night shift security guy would've been ROTFL.
  • Friday, we shall resume our mission.

Okay seriously... end of night.  ;-)
