What ever the theme is this week. (I guess just as long as you download it, you can pick it. Bleah.)
LULZ, nobody boo'd when Ryan said something about Sarver being voted off last week. David Spade is seated behind the judges... clearly seen if the camera's from Randy's left.
Oooo... it's Popular iTunes Downloads. Hehe... Allison, Gokey, Anoop, and Kris in one SUV. Personality = 0. Oooo... Adam's laugh is sex-ay!
Anoop Desai, "Caught Up"
General Anoop Desai? Kuya, three words: don't dance. The only words I could understand are "I'm so..." Hehe, he does look a little frat boy-ish. Hehe, Anoop's friends DO look like those frat boys. Especially that big guy boo-ing like a football jock. When Anoop started out the song, I was instantly reminded of Buffalax's "Benny Lava" dude. I though Anoop's getting back in the groove? Back to being an instant front-runner? But hell, song choice killed him again.
Megan Joy, “Turn Your Lights Down Low”
Oh... showing a picture of the kid... hmm. Megan Joy has the voice that NEEDS AN ORIGINAL SONG. You have to write a song for that kind of voice. Gawd, this is boring, monotonous. I won't turn my lights down low, or else I'll fall asleep. I agree with Kara, Adele would've been a better choice. (Not to mention... that's a NEW song.) Now, I understand why Simon called her "indulgent" and (will) not say the same to Adam. She keeps on singing songs that she likes. Randy hit the nail on the head, if you like it, it doesn't mean you sing it well.
Danny Gokey, “What Hurts the Most”
Oh man, this is a SAAAAAD song. (One of my favorites, I might add.) Okay, the guy just lost his wife and then lost his grandfather. I bet the judges will be nice to him even if he sounds his usual screechy, scratchy, huff. I'm digging this week's glasses. Here he goes again with his shortness of breath, screaming out the high notes. Danny, that's not good for your voice in the long run. Kelly Clarkson was doing that and then she developed polyps. But the emotion, dude. Try not to cry okay. I applaud the emotion. Still not sold on the screech.
Allison Iraheta, "Don't Speak"
Oh she plays guitar. I LOVE THIS SONG. What the fudge is up with the hair? Was the guitar plugged on? Nah, I wasn't moved or impressed unlike weeks past. The guitar crippled her, in my opinion. She did look like a 16-year-old high school rock band vocalist practicing in a friend's garage. I felt that the song was too short or the arrangement wasn't good. Reminded me of crappy bands back in high school... those who screamed thinking they're even remotely good.
Scott MacIntyre, "Just the Way You Are"
OH! That song. XDD I've been racking my brain the whole day. Solo on stage. I love the sound of the piano. Uh... hair? It's his best performance of the season, methinks. So shoot me, I actually liked that. It was pure and honest. Not those boring inspirational songs. This buys Scott a week or two.
Matt Giraud, "You Found Me"
This is the only the second relatively NEW song so far. He really looks like Michael Buble. I do like his speaking voice. I've never seen this guy perform without the piano. I forgot his "Viva La Vida" debacle and I kept on missing his Wild Card performance. I'm terribly sorry, but it's sooo copycat. What's with the growling? ILU, Randy. And Simon. He should've sung OneRepublic's "Apologize". 'Nuff said.
Lil Rounds, "I Surrender"
Shoot me again after I say this but I like her to be voted off instead of Megan. O_O wtf.... is that Lil? She does sport a Rafael Nadal butt. Two words: BIG VOICE. That's all. Anthony Fedorov > Lil Rounds. At this point, "you're a good singer" is not enough anymore. Oh cheap shot... cheeeaaap shot. Take the kids out of the equation, Ryan. She is NOT going to get her votes.
Adam Lambert, "Play that Funky Music"
I have fangirl'd enough on the previous post. He kept the "Tracks" hair. IMO, he's sexier with the emo hair but no complaint here if I can see his face haha. Adam-baby... ILY but... touching yourself... is not only sexy but, well... okay, I forgot what I was going to say. What I would give to find out what note that is he's reaching. You see, this is the "I had fun up here" where you can see that he REALLY had fun up there. One thing for Adam, sure Paula said that he's comfy on stage during the 1st week but every week after that, he gets more and more comfortable. Gets? It's like I'm watching one of his own shows where he interacts with the crowd with his eyes and all that. VERY professional.
And Kara... Studio 54. Not Studio 57.
Kris Allen, "Ain't No Sunshine"
Piano Man #3. Wait, Michael Jackson sang this too, right? I'm digging the strings section. I think this is exactly what Matt was gunning for when he said he'll be mixing it up. But the difference is, Kris can do it without much trying. I loved it! For the most improved award, Kris takes the cake.
Overall, it was a night of bad hair. I find it weird that they were given a wide open song list and most of them pick old songs. I guess, it's easier to make older songs current than risking karaoke on a new song.
Best performance: Kris and Adam (who are roommates)
Worst performace: Anoop and Megan
Bottom three: the girls or add Anoop/Matt in
Out: Lil or Megan
