Roger Federer def Marat Safin
6-3 6-2 7-6
His eyes are shining talking about his Doubles Gold. *snuggle*
He's so much better when he's playing the better players of the tour... than your journeymen.
To those who scoffed at
Federer Faces Rocky Road, let me ask you this:
Which of the top 5 had Marat Safin as a third round opponent? Which one of them had a former Aussie Open champion so early? (Okay, Fernando Gonzalez had Lleyton Hewitt in the first round but as of late, Hewitt's easy pickings.) Which of them were taken to tie-breaks in the first match? Andreas Seppi is the Italian number one. As for the others, they disposed of qualifiers or journeymen.
Alisa Kleybanova def Ana Ivanovic
7-5 6-7 6-2
A double break in the third. Ana had the chance to take it further, getting the first break back but Kleybanova was determined. So much for the runner-up.
