Spoilers: This is a missing scene from the episode that showed how Zuko got his scar, so...spoilers for that? Though I'm not sure this is even regarded as a spoiler so much as something that just is. Overall, it's pre-series, so I think it's safe(ish) to read for the non-spoiled.
Warnings: Descriptions of injury, brief mentions of someone intentionally hurting someone else. Some gore is described, including blood, only because it's necessary for the subject matter, and I hope handled tastefully.

Summary: Uncle Iroh comes to find Zuko immediately after the event that disfigured Zuko for life. He finds Zuko in a state that is less than reassuring. A hurt/comfort fic of sorts, mired in tragedy.

( Screams break through the hollow doorway, white hot and piercing the air. Iroh’s ears protest with a blaring throb, but he rushes forward anyway, melted lock pieces scraping under the silk of his ceremonial robes. )
