Success and failure

First, I didn't get the Pick n Save job. Then I went to apply for a night auditor position, but when I got there it had been filled. I filled out an application for any position anyway, but right now there was nothing open. But now begins another week, and for Unemployment benefit purposes, I should make some more "contacts" for jobs.

I got all depressed when I found out about the Pick n Save job. If I can't get a job at a frickin' grocery store, what hope is there? But, I'm better now. My situation isn't completely dire, as I have my unemployment checks coming in, and I think I'll have the option to file for an extension.

To put another burden on the financials, I did get approved for my apartment. It's a happy thing, for now I'll have a place to live while I look for work.

During this time of looking for work and getting denied work, and of reminiscing of my time in the UK and missing all the awesome food they had there, I started throwing around the idea of opening a British/European bakery. I could sell the Welsh Cakes, and the Chocolate Croissants, and the Cornish Pasties, and the Steak Pies, and Cawl (Welsh Lamb Stew), and the Bacon and Brie paninis on baguettes, and everything else that I can't find here. Making money making all the foods I love would be awesome...

However, I'm not a baker. I'd have to take *even more* classes to learn the trade. I could do my own books and run the business end of things, with the accounting and management classes I've taken, but I'd have to either do more schooling or hire a real baker. So if anyone out there can bake pastry and is interested in being a partner in a bakery, drop me a line!

Speaking of food, I've started up my diet again, and I'm pleased to say I've lost 6 pounds in a week! I know that this probably isn't *real* weight loss, it's probably only water weight, but it still feels good! When I move back to my apartment, I can get some more exercise and weight training in at the complex's exercise room (w00t! no gym fees!). In the meantime, my mom and I are taking short walks around the neighborhood. It's not much, but mom's back starts hurting after awhile, so we have to keep it short. I know I could continue walking, and occasionally I do, but I'm just not motivated enough.

Somebody send me some motivation!
