(no subject)
Ok, so I've talked about my friend Carlie before who was in the process of getting separated/divorced from her selfish, crazy husband...
Anyway, we lost contact with her AGAIN in February. We tried and tried to call her, but the phone would either ring forever or was busy for days. We had no way of finding out where she was or if she was ok. I was so super worried about her, especially because her health is so bad.
J.R. came home from work yesterday and said that he tried calling her again and she actually answered! It's turns out that her number was supposed to have been disconnected and reconnected somewhere else, but the phone company fucked up. I was so happy to know she was ok! We went over there last night to see her. I've seriously never imagined that one person could have as much bad luck as she does. In the 3 months that we haven't seen or talked to her, she:
-had her car stolen by a "friend" (a guy)
-was accused by her jealous husband in court of trading her car for crack (which she DOESN'T do)
-lost custody of her 2 kids
-got her car back and then plowed into a tree, totaling her car
-got evicted from her new apt.
-was told that there's no way she could win full custody of her kids b/c of her health problems and the medication she has to take, even though she takes MUCH better care of them
-had to move back in w/ crazy husband cause she was homeless and wanted to see her kids
And that's just the last 3 MONTHS! (I'm sure I'm probably leaving out a few things, too) We've known her close to 5 years and this is what her whole life is like. One fucked up thing after another. It's so sad. She's a nice, responsible person... she doesn't deserve all the shit she has to go through.
We had a nice visit though. I'm just glad to know she's "okay".
