This week has been pretty good. J.R. and I decided to start eating a lot better and that we're going to try to get into better shape. Our wedding/trip to Italy is my motivation. I really want to work on/improve some stuff in my life before that happens.

It's nice not being broke anymore. Finally we're not having to live waiting for the next paycheck or selling stuff in order to pay for bills. Much less stressful.

This weekend was pretty fun. On Saturday, J.R.'s manager gave him a $200 Visa giftcard for one of the many ongoing contests they have at T-Mobile. That night as we were getting ready to go to Wal-Mart, Sedlock and Jeremy called and asked if we wanted to go with them to Sky King to get fireworks. So we decided that it would probably be better to go then (10pm) rather than going the next day (the 4th) like we usually do. J.R. and I ended up buying over $200 in fireworks, but it was 'buy one get one free' so we had a freakin ton. There was this kid who worked there who acted like he worked on commission selling fireworks...it was funny. Sedlock and Jeremy wanted us to go with them to set them off that night, but we wanted to save them til the next night, so we just went to Wal-Mart as planned.

On Sunday, J.R. got his mohawk cut off. It was kinda sad, but he was ready for a change. This new hair will take some getting used to... Around 6:00 we went down to his mom's house to make a bonfire and do the fireworks. We ended up not making the fire - it was really hot anyway. J.R.'s family had been at some family gathering (that we had avoided) and by the time they got home, J.R.'s stepfather was really drunk and his mom was pissed, so we just stayed in the backyard blowing stuff up til it got dark. Sedlock met us there to do the fireworks, but no one is J.R.'s family came out to have fun with us, including his little brother and sister, which I find to be very odd. We had a really good time though. SOOO many fireworks... I burned my thumb and it hurt so bad that I had to stop lighting them. I think we finally left around 11:30.

Oh yeah, I FINALLY saw Donnie Darko a few days ago. I was super confused at the end, but very intrigued. I went to the website, which was interesting yet still very confusing. Then I had to watch the Director and Jake Gyllenhaal's commentary the next day to get some more insight. I really want to watch the movie again either tonight or tomorrow and watch all the deleted scenes and stuff. And I'm excited about the director's cut being released to theaters later this month. Hopefully some theater relatively close will show it.
