Guarding Angel Island, its inhabitants, and the Master Emerald from all threats, both outward and inward.

I... haven't done a very good job of any of that for awhile.

...lets just say, I've... let a lot of folks down, and... just recently nearly destroyed everyone and everything I know and love. And lost one such person in the process.

So I'm not really a happy camper right now.

I can understand that, believe me. But trying to blow things up to make you feel better probably isn't the best way to go about this.

Oddly enough, it was in mine too.

But - speaking from a bit of experience and taking a bit of a wild guess to boot - that doesn't mean you shouldn't use your strengths to do the right thing. Otherwise, that strength will go to waste.

It's never really easy to be in this position - but if the people who have extraordinary gifts don't use them for the right thing, innocent people will hurt. I'd like nothing better to never have fight again. But if I don't, who knows who could be the next person to suffer? My friends, my... family, my country.

Acting responsibly with what you've got is a tough deal, kid, I won't lie. But not acting could be even worse.
