bad words
Okie Doke...well...havn't posted for a while cause thinking of my LJ lately tends to evoke a feeling much similar to the one you got when, after the whole teenage angst thing was said, felt deeply (oh so deeply!...and darkly too. dark like the black blood of a wilted rose, stained upon this death like kiss) and done, that all of your poetry in fact, sucks. (come on, we've all gone through it)
I've thought of deleting the whole damn thing. But, oh well.
For some strange reason I just can't bring myself to to it. Look at it as character development...or something.
Anyways, lots is new. I love Doug (formerly known as the Love Zombie) we live together, have cats (that Bengal I had wanted finally came through to me, free of charge)and all that.
Last weekend we went to Kensington Market and purchased these pirated DVD's from a street vendor. We thought to ourselves great! all of these movies current in Theaters for such a good price!...but no folks, do not let the chinese characters on the side of the box fool you! These are not all english movies. One of the flicks we got was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was hilarious to watch...having an English audio option (which was re-dubbed and matched to the lips of the characters like an old dub of Godzilla or something) it was funny to see how HORRIBLE the translation was. I swear they must have used google language to do it. I can't resist posting some examples. They're just that bad!
For one thing, any time the name 'Sirius' came up, the subtitles said 'Small dog star'
....as in Hermione's advice to Harry, 'You know Small Dog Star will want to hear about this'.
But hey, at least that made SOME sense..well..you can see how it happened at least..check these ones out...
"So Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event. The Tri-Wizard tournament!"
reads as 'keep them wait to wait in a short while and slightly...like the huogup have already picked out...sponsor an enrich the game of the saint very much. Three Strong Compete for Hegemony the match!'
And...
"For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxine" is translated as 'Persia lovely girl of an evil law school of Ba, still there is their president Ma can fix the Boon madame'. All of the magic spells recited read as 'VOODOO'.
