TSA Licks Balls (also, hello LJ, I've missed you)
What the fuck is going on with US air travel? This is the week of epic fail for the TSA and airlines in general. So the douche bag that caused an entire terminal of EWR to be cleared walked the wrong way through an unmanned exit where his wife was standing. Great. 16,000 people were cleared out of the terminal and rescreened, some were even lucky enough to still have a flight to get on, others were not. All because the $12 TSA fee wasn’t enough to keep a TSA agent sitting at his post. It didn’t help that cameras apparently weren’t working for a week.
Then there’s the incident with the flight to Hawaii that got returned to Portland because of a passenger. What did this crazy SOB do, he filled out a comment card with stuff about Gilligan’s island and how he wouldn’t want to be stranded without Mary Anne. Granted he’s a douche bag as well, but 90 minutes into a flight they decide this is a threat and need to return to Portland.
Moral of the story, people suck and should be shot for doing dumb things, but also the TSA and flight crews suck and should be shot for gross incompetence bordering on negligence. I know if I was flying out of Newark on the Sunday after New Year’s and my flight got cancelled because TSA couldn’t man a post I would lose my shit. Even at $30/hour pay two people to stand there. They can jerk each other off to pass the time, I don’t really care, just don’t screw over an entire airport because you get bored doing your job.
