What is good? Everything that heightens the feeling of power of man, the will to power, power itself.
What is bad? Everything that is born of weakness.
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.
Not contentedness but more power; not peace but war; not virtue but fitness.
The weak and the failures shall perish: first principle of our love of man. And they shall be given every possible assistance.
What is more harmful than any vice? Active pitty for all the failures and all the weak: Christianity.
Tha problem I thus pose is not what shal succeed mankind in the sequence of living beings (man is an end, but but whay type of man shall be bred, shall be willed, for being higher in value, worthier of life, more certain of a future.
Even in the past this higher type has appeared often - but as a fortunate accident, as an exception, never as something willed. In fact, this has been the type most dreaded - almost the dreadful - and from dread the opposite type was silled, bread, and attained: the domestic animal, the herd animal, the sick human animal - the Christian.
