I was thinking of having a meme-request entry about fic writing, for anything outside of the Naruto fandom. But I'd rather not.
My ideas are flack. But I have to think of something.
Better idea...preview something shitty I wrote a long time ago *___*
Anyway, here's a sample of one of my abandoned fic ideas.
Summary: She wouldn’t take orders from anyone. Not her father, not her mother, and not even the Avatar. Things were better this way, and she knew it too. But deep down, Toph didn’t truly want to be alone again.
Rated: Go see.
Note: God knows when I wrote this. But one thing is certain. It was "done" before Avatar Season 3, so I was still under the impression that she hadn't met this guy yet ^__^
It was by midday that the young woman, setting foot on her own once again, found that being "alone" was easier when you felt like gouging out the eyes of a stranger.
Hardly taking two steps away from the busiest street corner of Gaoling, a force with the power of sheer magnitude set her flying back-first into the ground. Her back was pressed against some wooden paneling, and it hurt.
"Damn it!" This was just great.
There was suddenly a pair of feet that hurled itself between her own, tangling into a mess that she wasn’t even prepared for.
It wasn’t before long that there was a voice attached to the aggressor. The sound of his voice was harsh against the beating sun rays. The Earth nation was do damnably hot all the time.
“Why don’t you watch where you’re going!” A statement more than a question.
He was already standing, pointedly staring at her, eyes accusing...but she couldn't be bothered by that now. Gee, how did she end up on the floor again?
Toph didn’t even bother to pick herself up. Cooley brushing the raven black hair out of her eyes would suffice for now, less she send the poor jackass flying off to his doom.
“I wouldn’t have to if your big clunking feet didn’t stumble in front of me.”
She pushed herself up. Neck and shoulders rigid from impact, but...
From the soles of her feet, Toph could feel his movements suddenly take a hostile turn, his arms and legs stiffened into one careful stance.
Earthbender. A good one.
What was he so defensive about?! He hit her first.
His voice cracked, “You’re the one to talk, are you blind or something? I wasn’t even walking in your direction.”
The question almost threw her. In fact, it took her a moment to realize that maybe he was, in fact, quite much more stupid after all.
“As a matter a fact, I am blind.” She crossed her arms.
Silence.
“Oh.”
An awkward glance to her face proved him that-the girl was no liar. And for all he knew, he was probably the idiot who tripped her over in the first place.
After the Earthbending assailant offered her a cold beverage and a half-smile, their differences were set aside. Mighty Toph couldn't pass up anything free for Goddsake. A quiet seat in the shade, with all but with suddenly gentleman-like manner, it was as if he were a regular Prince-Charming. As if to apologize for earlier? It probably wasn’t beyond him. But she had her doubts.
Toph slurped loudly on the MangoWood flavored ice blend, pale-green eyes downcast modestly, but with both ears sharpened.
“My name is Haru, nice to meet you.”
Oh, how very polite of him. She wanted to kick him in the balls.
“Toph. And I guess it’s nice to meet you too, thanks for the bruises.”
She takes a sip of the glittering glass with added femininity, “And the drink.”
Haru did not miss the smug grin that graced her features.
(One crappy thing about Avatar is how they pretty much dropped in Toph at the last stages of action/plot-build up. A lot of things happened between the Aang-gang before she appears. Really. The show almost sucks without Toph. Almost. Anyway, thanks for not pointing out the mistakes! I already know about quite a few...)
Earthbenders ♥
