Woo...
My brother is married. Finally. It's over, and it went pretty well. :)
The ceremony wasn't bad (although all of the guests ended up standing through the whole thing due to a crossed signal, and a JP who apparently could not have cared less). They also did something unexpected and rather nice, prior to the ceremony: they had the JP ask for a moment of silence to remember those lost today. A nice touch, and appreciated.
Afterwards, there was a lot of miscommunication going on (where do we go? what do we do?) as far as where to go after the ceremony, the hotel took nearly an HOUR to set up the dining room, many people didn't "get" the seating arrangements (which I have to admit were a little odd), the DJ was WAAAAY too loud, but the food was good, and Garth and LilBeth were practically glowing, so there you are.
[sigh] I had to bail early, since I was wise enough to have some of a mysterious wild rice dish which apparently contained Something Bad, so here I currently sit, stoned out of my mind on Benadyl, watching people come and go from my house, moving crowmeat out (or moving out as much as they can carry in one load). I have given him a few "care packages" out of the kitchen, mostly stuff I can't eat anymore, or stuff that I never ate in the first place, so that's done with...now I just get to keep out of the way and hope that no one takes out the Blue Wall.
Wheeeeeee...took out the trash/catbox and emptied the dehumidifier this morning before I left; currently doing laundry, just finished a new mix CD, and will eventually motivate enough to change out of Wedding Clothes and into Work Clothes to clean the bathrooms, kitchen, and floor. Maybe see if people want to hang out tonight, who knows...
