You opened up a can of worms, my friend. I've been thirsting for a good TVXQ primer for decades (not an exaggeration) and an excuse to make one. That tweet you made was dangerous. TVXQ! is - hands down - my FAVORITE k-pop group. Yunho and Changmin are my favorite people in the whole world and hopefully by the time you get through my monster primer, you'll love them just as much ^^!!
So, TVXQ debuted in 2003 with five members (Yunho [the leader], Jaejoong, Junsu, Yoochun, and Changmin [maknae]). They go by a few different (confused me at first!). DBSK (Dong Bang Shin Ki - Korea), TVXQ (Tong Vfang Xien Qi - China), and Tohoshinki (Japan) - and they all roughly translate to "Rising Gods of the East." Now, I'm not going to lie - I am the WORST person to come to if you want to know anything about TVXQ (or DB5K) as a five member group. After a some legal disputes, three of the members (Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu) left. They’re now part of an independent group, JYJ, with a company in Japan (I think!!). The other two, Yunho and Changmin, stayed with SM Entertainment and kept the TVXQ! name when they came back after a brief hiatus.

HUMANOIDS: They performed this song at their concert back in November and the fancam version is the most played on my iTunes. They're like trapped on Exo!Planet or something but the song itself is really hot

Jung Yunho - U-Know (정윤호, 瑜鹵允浩) February 6, 1986
Yunho is the sweetest fucking thing in the world. He's so genuinely nice. He's a complete goober and my favorite person in the world. Yunho is (obviously) my bias but he really is a good dude. And a lot of my affection comes from the fact that he's so humble. He genuinely cared (and probably still cares) for his ex-group members and it's so evident in the old interactions with them. And that same adoration and affection is still held for his dongsaeng (Changmin) and it melts my heart. He's a hard worker and his motivation are his fans. Everything he does is an effort to give back in some way and he pours everything he has into any given project. I honestly wish I was more articulate because I can't talk about Yunho the way he deserves??? Sometimes I think about his beginnings, what he's had to overcome, the kind of person he is now and I want to cry.
Beautiful yet prickly, smart ass maknae, Voice of an angel.
Shim Changmin - Max (심창민, チャンミン) February 18, 1988
Snark and food is probably the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Changmin - and to be honest I wouldn't be that far off base. Where Yunho is social and boisterous, Changmin is quiet and reserved. Despite being the maknae, Changmin was probably the most mature out of the group. I like to think that it's because even though he's the youngest in the group, he's the eldest of three in his family. Changmin comes from a family of professors and he often says that if he weren't an idol, he'd return to school and live a normal life. He even said once that if TVXQ couldn't perform as five, he'd leave as well. But let me not get into the fact that he stayed with Yunho because that is giving me a bunch of feelings I don't need at 11:04AM.

- There was a recession in Korea during which Yunho's father lost his business. Yunho dropped out of school to help pay for his sister's tuition fees. He moves to Seoul and worked several odd jobs. He was even homeless for awhile. During his training period, an ex-member (Junsu) and his family took Yunho in because he had nowhere else to go.
- Back in 2006 (he must have been about twenty), this girl tried to poison him. You read that correctly - poison him. She put an adhesive in his drink and he drank from it. He was rushed to the hospital where he had to stay for a few days. The girl eventually turned herself in. And despite what she did, Yunho contacted the authorities and urged them not to press charges because he had a younger sister who was the same age.
- Yunho loves kids. A lot. "I'd like to go twenty years into the future. [Why?] Since one of my biggest dreams is to become a good father, I’d like to know what kind of father I become.”
- He volunteered at an orphanage where he helped clean, give food, and hang out with the children there without his company's knowledge.
- “But I don’t cry even at happy times. I didn’t cry at all even when we received a big prize in Korea. If you ask why, it’s because I made a promise a long time ago. There are extremely painful memories of when I was a trainee…. When an uncle that I respected and really loved passed away, I had a really painful period of time. At that time I made a promise to myself: In the whole of Asia, and the whole of the world, until I myself am able to become a human being I am satisfied with, I will never cry.” (yo, this breaks my heart EVERY TIME.)

He'll spend the majority of his interviews giggling at Yunho (again giggling during Yunho's speech) or staring off into space. When he does say something he might make a strange joke or a weird comment - most of the time in reference to something he's thinking. Sometimes I think he forgets that we don't actually know what he was thinking about.
- Changmin does this thing where he can be totally effortlessly sexy. Sometimes when he tries tho...
- I make fun of Changmin a lot but he's actually incredibly sweet and very thoughtful. He's just silly and cute and idk his cute and squishy hyung rubbed off on him I guess!
