Wahoo!
I got a copy of a script for a straight-play (i.e. non-musical) version of Phantom yesterday, and the Phantom Piano Tribute CD! Both thanks to two fellow Phans who very sweetly sent them to me. Thanks guys! I haven't read the script yet, because I don't feel like scanning it yet plus I have a whole bunch of schoolwork that I need to catch up on. But I have listened to the CD and I love it! It has piano renditions of all the main songs from POTO, with a light string accompaniment in the background. And they're played on a real piano, without too many unnecessary ornaments and flourishes, so it doesn't sound in the least cheezy.
On a horribly sad note though, Phantom leaves Toronto a week tommorrow! *cry, cry, cry, cry, cry!* I've been floating along in the happy cloud of having it here in town again since it came in February, but now I have to face the aweful fact that it's only here as a stop of a tour, not permanently. God! The run has just flown by! I can't believe it's a week from being gone already! It's like when the Toronto production closed all over again! My one small respite, although it is only that, is that it will be stopping in Ottawa for four weeks or so starting on August 14th. And I'm going to try to arrange a trip down there. But then it'll really be gone for heaven knows how long! *sob!* God I'll miss it! Ok, that's it, I have to arrange to live somewhwere where there's a permanent production.
