i had a woman today come in and ask for a soy frappacino...i told her we don't have soy frappaccinos...she then stood there for about two minutes trying to register what i just said, then said "well, i don't know, that is what my friend asked for!"...so she calls her friend to inform them that there are no soy frapaccinos, and then hangs up and says, "ok, my friend will have the soy frappacino"...needless to say, i can't wait until my other job starts giving benefits and i can start recieving them so i can never go to this job again...
as for my other job, i had my first student who wasn't actually someone else's student yesterday...it was ackward...so i got a beer afterwards...
i've decieded that i am going to go to the h.p.lovecraft film festival in portland, oregan this october...it will be my personal pilgrimage so i can finally talk to people who know what the fuck i am talking about when i talk about lovecraft, who may or may not be my favorite author and may or may not owe me money, depending on whether i want to press charges over wasting my life and money with that horrible adaption of "beyond the wall of sleep"...
so i got headshots done on monday by a friend of mine...and they are amazingly better than the crap that i had done last summer, and $200 or more less...fantastic...i'm glad i wasted all that previous money...so with my new found picture that i don't hate and the knowledge that nothing will probably happen with mr. irish bar bouncer guy cause neither one of us has tried to contact the other for about a week, i opened up an okcupid account...that isn't actually true...because i have had one since 2005 apparently...those things, apparently, don't die...what the hell? but whatever, i don't even know why i have one, but i had a name and a password so if it actually belonged to someone else, sucks to be them...but i have had a few messages and stuff, but no one that i am overly excited over...which is highly typical...i give anyone a chance, but thats about it...
my computer is slowly but surely dying of the mechanical version of the bubonic plague...i can no longer have more than one thing open...in otherwords, if the internet is open, i can't have either aim or itunes up, and the same goes for any other combination...which means that since i am usually on the internet if i am on the computer, aim is not happening and neither is itunes...i am going to have it looked like, but i think it might just be time to bite the bullet and buy a new computer...which will take some of the money that i am saving for the h.p.l film festival, or will just come after that...but i need a vacation that involves doing exactly what i want when i want...and i want to sit alone through screenings of low budget films based on cult fiction from the 20's and 30's....
