elmer gantry is finished...it went well, but it seems that the two weeks that were spent in hard core preparation and performance went by very slowly...really really slow...i don't remember ever having time drag like it did then...i wasn't bored, at all...but the days were so long that it just seemed to drag everything out...but it is done, and it went well, and there is nothing more to that than...
i have a role in the donizetti that we are doing...i am extremely excited for this...
besides that, i have my recital coming up...in which i need to learn and memorize on scene from a german opera, one piece of german lieder, two songs in a set of three french pieces, two italian arias, five russian songs, and three english songs...so this should be exciting...
i am also taking latin ii...and with it all the joy of almost a year between taking latin i and now, as well as the almost divine joy of having a quiz every class...but better to be ontop of this craziness then let everything fall by the wayside and freak out at the last minute...
so i have some dates to give to work, but nothing as ridiculous as with gantry, i'm sure...
things feel more up, with the exception of some weird dreams, one of which i'm pretty sure i posted a while back...
the strange thing about that dream is that i later read in joseph campbell that exactly what i dreamed was the ritualitstic slaughter of the king (done in primitive planter societies, having to do with the rebirth of the crop, etc.)...right down to the hanging on the hook and the deviseration...as well as the overwhelming feeling of sadness on a personal level and a feeling of rightness on a cosmic level...really weird...
the other dreams are just creepy...but whatever...
