This just sort of...happened?
The songs are chronological, following Guy's state of mind after the Holy Land, into his sinking into haunted regret, through to the forgiveness and hope that Meg gives him. The bonus song is...well, it really is very appropriate, but I couldn't quite justify including it in the mix proper, partly because the vibe didn't quite match the other songs. It is in the zip though, and if you are personally offended by Brandy, you can delete it. ;)
Light In The Window
a Guy/Marian/Meg EP
light, (vb): to illuminate, guide, kindle, brighten
Willow Song | Verona (from Shakespeare's Othello)*
The poor soul sat sighing by a sycamore tree
Sing willow, willow, willow
Waiting Now | Opshop (
YouTube)
I've bathed in our own lament
When we were flashing in front of my eyes
And I and I and me are my own worst enemies
But I hope you'll see the best of us in time
Easy Come Easy Go | Gin
When the weight on my shoulders is dragging me under
Would you save one more day
For me
Momentum | The Hush Sound
All we need is a little bit of momentum
Break down these walls
That we’ve built around ourselves
Space Song | The Pierces
In the middle of the night
I got me a little light
It burns on
I can feel it changing me
I can see what I believe

BONUS TRACK (also in zip)
Have You Ever | Brandy
Have you ever been in love
Been in love so bad
You'd do anything to make them understand
Have you ever had someone steal your heart away
You'd give anything to make them feel the same

agguss pointed out the Ophelia feel to the final Guy/Meg scene, which got my mind wandering on to other Shakespeare parallels. Othello/Desdemona is rather Guy/Marian, no?
Verona, Gin and Opshop are all NZ artists. I encourage you to check them out and maybe even purchase their CDs, because they are le awesome, and I say that without a hint of bias. Really. (Weeeeell, maybe a little hint.)
