Went to shop for some gourmet ingredients at Whole Foods today. As usual (because it is the way to my heart,) I bee-lined to the cheese counter. Any recipe can be made better with a large serving of cheese. My favorite thing to do is to try one new block of weird, foreign, unpronounceable cheese whenever I can. This is the knowledge I have gained from the Food Network. The fellow behind the counter, Damon was quite nice! We got to chatting about food, travel, school, history… cheese. He knew his stuff! Was talking about grilling brie in grape leaves and Port wine, enjoying Spain and Napoleon’s influence on food. (HE BROUGHT HIM UP! NOT ME!!) Before long I realized I was flirting with the cheese guy at Whole Foods. Cute guy, knew his food, history, also majoring in History and Anthropology, and planning to go backpacking in Europe. Think he may have been flirting too, because the rest of the customers went neglected as he kept taking me behind the counter to give me free samples of foreign, and unpronounceable cheeses. I ended up trying so much that I was a bit sick by the end of it! I wanted to stay longer, and he asked me to come back next week if I could. Ended up buying three different cheese of the dozens he made me try. Call me cheesy… but I got a crush on the cheese boy.
