Today's Sunday prompt requires a bit of explaining - this is a Choose Your Own Adventure type activity. Here's how we're going to do it.

1. Post the beginnings of a story, leaving off at an important/fun/silly decision making point. (for example, the character opens up the door, and finds.....)

2. Give multiple choices for what might lie beyond (in our example, it could be - A Package, A Strip-o-Gram, An Angry Neighbor)

3. Someone comments on your story and chooses one of the options.

4. You write another story snippet, once again leaving off at a decision point with multiple choices...

5. Someone comments and chooses an option, you write from that point, etc.

6. Repeat until a) one of the choices winds up in an ending of sorts (a disaster? a happy ending? just the end of the tale), or b) you get tired of continuing the story.

There had only been the very quiet sounds of the nuns and priests cleaning all day. Not once had they bothered her, just like her Chevalier had told them. They were only to bring her food and water if she asked, which they all seemed perfectly content to do so. It was for fear of contracting the disease they thought she had, of course, but Diva didn't mind the quiet. It wasn't bad at all for her, since this was one of the rare times where she had the chance to be alone and away from her Chevalier, and occupy herself as she chose. It would be more exciting if she had more to do, but the books that were in neat piles on the small desk were plenty for her.

It was a chance for her to explore other lands that she'd never imagined, after all. She fondly flipped through the pages of Grimm's fairytales, smiling even more fondly to remember it was a gift. They were tales of witches, princesses, and magic, and she had thought them very fun, whimsical stories. Diva tried to imagine herself as the princesses who were waiting for their one true love, but she'd just as soon laugh the thought away. It was a fun way for her to pass the time, and nothing more.

She would have continued to occupy herself with the ideas of fancy, if it hadn't been for what sounded like an explosion. It seemed far away, but she still looked up from the book, standing to open the dingy shutters that only prevented light from coming in. In the night, it looked like something was burning a distance away.

Thoughtfully, she wondered what it could be. Intrigued by the explosion, Diva thought that she would go out to see. Before she left the room, though, she decided to grab...
A) A coat
B) Her book
C) Something to eat
