Ok,my first post in a while. But i want to post heremore reguarly and keep up with my friends' journals too. And to start things off i have stolen a meme from sam_cc .
The idea is, you answer one question per day, and i'll try and stick to that, but i really can't make any promises, knowing how i tend to forget about things.
WARNING - these answers may vary in length, and some may ramble on for far too long. I tnd to get very passionate about certain couples.
#Day 1: What is your current favourite pairing?
I have so many favourite pairings it’s hard to pick just one, but I’ll pick the one where my emotions are currently directed.
Kunzite X Zoisite - Sailor Moon
And, shockingly, it’s cannon! Something the world needs more of, a pairing that shows that villains have hearts and loves too. I love these two so deeply that I will watch an episode of Sailor Moon and skip straight to the scenes they’re in. Although we never got to experience it in the dub (villains aren’t allowed to love, especially gay villains) I can honestly say it’s the sweetest thing I’ve seen on screen in a long time. And this is from a series that is full of romance. It surprised me that Kunzite, who I often see described as ‘ice like’ and emotionless, harboured a soft spot (more than a soft spot) for the childlike, flirty, Zoisite. It’s the old opposites attract thing that draws me in once more.
Apart from anything else these two show their feelings for each other more noticeably than I had actually seen before in most animes. This I partly due to my lack of anime series I have watched, but usually it’s all up to the viewer to interpret a pairing how, and if, they want to.
But these two... in just about every scene they share, Zoisite is either clinging to, leaning against or embracing Kunzite in some way. And Kunzite does return this, in some way or other on most occasions.
And to those who believe it’s only one sided, I give you this: The death scenes. Would you stay and hold someone in your arms as they were dying if you didn’t love them? Would you call out that person’s name as you were dying if you didn’t love them?
