Synopsis: A man looses everything- his family, his job, his house and his car due to an uncontrollable cocaine addiction. He wanders around downtown New York for years living off of scrap and collecting change. One night he becomes suicidal and decides to walk to the jersey shore where he was raised before ending his life. He jumps into the water, then the next thing that he remembers is waking up in a hospital. All the doctors and staff there are gathered around as they look at him as if he were a god. It's eventually revealed that there was a period of 2 years during which he was unconsciously traveling the earth performing miracles- healing cancer patients, walking on water, etc, and that one day as he was delivering a speech he fainted. The world thinks that he is Christ. All the while he questions the reality of what he sees. Defying explanation he is shot in the back and killed (the act was perpetrated by the world government through some psycho-fundamentalist). He finds himself in hell where satan reveals that the idea of a christ works to his advantage. At the end he wakes up in a hospital again with his family standing around, offering to mend their broken lives...
